Jazz Cabbage Live- The Platform @ Chalfonte Theatre – April 1

Get ready for a night of genre-defying music as Jazz Cabbage takes the stage at The Platform at the Chalfonte Theatre on Tuesday, April 1, at 7 PM. Doors open at 6 PM, and tickets are just $9, available at the box office or online.

Based in Traverse City, Michigan, Jazz Cabbage is the brainchild of Rob Coonrod, a dynamic songwriter and multi-instrumentalist known for his thoughtful lyrics, high-energy performances, and dazzling guitar work. The band blends a wide array of influences—psychedelic rock, surf, soul, swing, honky-tonk, bossa nova, calypso, flamenco, jazz, and pop hits from the 1930s through the 2000s—into a sound that is as unpredictable as it is electrifying. Nothing stupid—we promise.

A seasoned musician with deep roots in the arts, Rob Coonrod grew up in Interlochen, Michigan, the son of a classical pianist and a cellist. A graduate of Interlochen Arts Academy, he went on to study jazz guitar and composition at CalArts, honing his craft under legends like Miroslav Tadić and Larry Koonse. His musical journey has taken him across Europe, Cuba, and Bolivia, performing on the streets of Dublin, in the jazz clubs of Los Angeles, and alongside Blues Traveler at Little River Casino.

Now back in Traverse City, Rob and his wife Tara run MoonGarden Mushrooms, a medicinal mushroom company, while he continues to perform across Michigan as a solo artist and with Jazz Cabbage.

Don't miss this one-of-a-kind musical experience with Jazz Cabbage—where anything can happen and every song is an adventure.
